We got back about 11:00 PM. I put the bike in the garage, patted the seat and thanked it for getting me home. I promised it I would see to it's lost nut and bug splattered windshield as soon as I could. I also told it I would check the tightness of other fasteners on it.

Since this was the first trip of any length I had made on the scooter, I was pleased with its "Maiden Voyage". My instincts had told me the new clutch hub was a POS, which was why I took the old one with me. I hated that the big ride ended up being the quick jaunt to breakfast and back, but luckily I was with a group that understood the nature of the beasts. I was also extremely fortunate to break down up the hill from a motorcycle shop and to have the proprietors of the establishment be so accommodating.

I have some work to do before I take off for MITM 2001. Hopefully that will be more Ride Report than Wrench Report!
