The wind across the flat portions of Missouri and Arkansas was pretty strong; I would be leaning to stay on a straight course. Then a semi would come by and as it passed suddenly I would become upright, then almost blown off the back of the bike by the draft, and then once again hit from the side by the wind. A couple of times there were a few sprinkles of rain, and I had to take my sunglasses off and put them in my pocket to dry. The trip didn't take as long as I expected. Mapquest had calculated it at over 400 miles, but I only had around 330 on the odometer, so that left 70 miles for a run through the Ozarks with the TOMKATs before the oil change was needed. I figured I would do that Sunday before I left. The directions we got from the Stables had said 4 miles west of town so we were expecting to have to go through Eureka Springs, but 4 miles west of Berryville we saw the sign on the left. |

When we checked in, we were told that Ivan was already here, but was out for a ride. So we went to our room, got unpacked and headed to the restaurant for ribs and chicken. Les had said that Molly and he were expecting to get in around 9:00PM. I knew he would have a Triumph chopper, I didn't know what kind of bike Ivan had. Snag_one was staying at Wally and Lynn's Friday night and they would be up sometime Saturday. |
