The pipe was cut to length using a bandsaw. Originally I moved the insulation away, stuck the end of the pipe in the hole in the door, then rotated it against a pencil. That made the spacer a little too long, so I cut a second about 3/16" shorter. |

I marked a 1" ID washer with the OD of the PVC pipe. |

Then eight 3/16" holes were drilled between the inner hole and the inner mark. The idea is to allow cold air to enter the PVC spacer and keep the shank cool right up to the faucet on the other side of the door. |
