I had always used the inexpensive slip-on pads for the suicide and brake pedals, but on that first rainy putt the one on the shorter heel portion of the rocker pedal went flying off and bouncing down the road. Running without it felt strange, and just getting a half pad would have looked weird, so I knuckled under and spent the big bucks on the Taiwan Tedd's 3-piece set. Note the dip in the toe pedal, the dog-gone stud spun under the pad when I tried to put a real locknut on it. I had to use an air ratchet to QUICKLY spin it off since trying with a regular hand ratchet just turned the stud more. I had to use the regular nut and lockwasher supplied, but it goes against my grain to not use the locknut. Really disappointing to spend over $30 for pedal pads and them end up being a POS. |

Not as obvious from this photo but the brake pedal did it too. Since I was half expecting it I didn't even try using a locknut this time. The leak at the master cylinder line turned out to be fluid weeping from around the filler cap gasket. I'm still getting air in the lines from somewhere though, even if I can't find the leak. It's not good to have to pump the brake, so I continue looking for that gremlin. |

Although the clutch pedal had slots in it for mounting pads of this type, the brake pedal didn't so I had to drill it. I'm hoping the clear fingernail polish will keep the rust away, but I guess that's just wishful thinking. |
