Check out those cracks in the mount where the bolt held the front axle assembly. Notice the ones on the side where the mount welded to the frame. Not visible are the cracks in the frame itself around the same area where it actually was trying to fold up over the engine. My dogs like to dig, and I had hit quite a few holes in 5th gear. Also note the gouges in the frame (most notable near the spring in the upper right) where the steering link had rubbed.

 

About the best thing to do was to buy a new frame, and the fact that Sears would sell me one for $105 was a pleasant surprise.
