LET ME OUT!!! I CAN'T BREATHE UNDER HERE!!!!

Yes, the motor is finally here. So while you folks partied at MITM 2K, I got ready to put it back in the frame.

 

 

Here's the specs:

Lower end is all new S&S 84ci Super Stock, the upper end '78 FX Shovels. The heads were sent to Advanced Cycle Machining in Superior, WI to be set up for the S&S 514 cam. New valves, guides, seals, springs and collars were in order. They also fixed a broken fin and a ding in the intake port where I had messed up installing a manifold previously.

HogDoctor had recommended I send my heads to Advanced in an email we exchanged when I first tore the bike down, and it turned out Andy has been sending his critical work to Advanced all along.

The cylinders were bored 10 over, painted black wrinkle (along with the tappet blocks) and S&S pistons installed. The pushrod covers and billet oil pump are also S&S. No, I'm not going billet crazy. The old style wasn't available when the engine was ordered so they included the billet one at the same price.

The rocker covers (plus the lower legs of the FL front end) were polished, the heads (and transmission case) were bead blasted.
